The Chianti region is the quintessence of Tuscany. Its incredibly beautiful countryside, vineyards, olive groves and forests all add to its ambiance. Tall, slender cypress trees dominate the landscape and crown the hilltops along rural roads.
Visiting the country and strolling through it means entering the world of the famous Chianti wines, such as Vernaccia of San Gimignano and Brunello di Montalcino. The vineyards alternate with silvery-gray olive groves, where much of the finest extra-virgin olive oil in Italy is produced. Fields of saffron, a highly prized spice more precious and costly than gold, are abundant in this Region.
Weddings in Tuscany are exceptionally romantic, and it means having a wide range of choices of marbled city halls, elegant churches, stunning castles and villas, and romantic country houses. Included in this romantic atmosphere, are delicious Tuscan cuisine and wines.
A jewel in the heart of the Chianti region, and without a doubt, Italy’s best preserved medieval city, the sight of San Gimignano perched high in the sky is breathtaking. The enchantment grows even grander as you enter the medieval gates to find a small town with well preserved architecture. Strolling along the narrow and winding streets is like stepping back into another century. You can even climb several of the famous towers and enjoy the panoramic views of the entire countryside. The little town provides a fairy tale setting for your wedding in Tuscany!
